Show Notes: Episode 004: Michele Madrigal

Michele Madrigal’s Fearless Story:

  • We all have a story and within each story are gifts but we can’t always see those gifts
  • It’s taken me a while to see the gifts in my story
  • The start of my awakening began in 2008 when I lost my job as a paramedic and that devastated me
  • So, with the support of my husband we decided it was the perfect time to start a family
  • I had my two sons within 18 months and we were the typical family with two kids, dogs, cats etc living life
  • In 2011 I was diagnosed with breast cancer – triple negative
  • In Nov 2011 I unexpectedly lost my husband
  • I found myself in the middle of breast cancer treatment, a single mum and a widower
  • I had no clue what I was going to do
  • Talk about facing fear – that’s an understatement
  • It took a while but I was able to finally shake hands with those fears and say thank you for trying to protect me but now it’s time to step aside and let me shine my light and live my life
  • That’s what these last few years have been about and I have come a long way from losing my job
  • I commend you on your courage and keeping on going. I’m sure there were moments when simply putting one foot in front of the other would have been challenging.

How did you get through that experience?

  • I would love to say that I had this big ‘A-ha’ moment and those did occur along the way
  • But it was about listening to the little whispers that were going on in my head
  • Listening to those voices that made positive suggestions “Hey why don’t you do this?” or “Why don’t you pick up that book?”
  • One of those books was Nancy Levin – Jump and your life will appear
  • That then led me to another book by Debbie Ford – Dark side of the light chasers
  • That led me to learn more about the shadow and what makes us do what we do
  • It has just snowballed from there
  • For me it’s been about listening to my inner self, my higher self, my true self
  • And not pushing her to the side anymore
  • That’s how my ‘how’ has worked
  • Learning how to listen to ourselves. We all know what we need and we just need to listen to hear it.
  • It’s really about moving from your head to your heart
  • Those voices are always going to be there and there are some from our head and some from our heart
  • It’s the ones from our heart that are pulling us forward

What did you learn from this?

  • The first one is around forgiveness. For so long I couldn’t forgive myself or people who had done me wrong
  • When I realised that forgiveness has nothing to do with condoning the behaviour of someone
  • And not to beat myself up for the things I’ve done that might not have been in alignment with my true self
  • That’s been huge!
  • Forgiving others allowed me the freedom to move on
  • It has nothing to do with them
  • Yes, their behaviour may have sucked but that occurred for me to learn something from, it didn’t occur ‘to’ me.
  • Being able to forgive myself for allowing that to happen and forgiving them for their behaviour has been huge for me
  • It has allowed me to find a lot more compassion for myself and others

One Highlight Moment:

  • Since I’ve found the ability to do this I make sure to do this every single day
  • To sit back and watch my two boys play without them knowing that I’m watching them
  • That innocence, that playfulness and that authenticity that comes from children is so powerful and it helps me to ground myself
  • I get to see the divine little beings that they are and we all used to be
  • Through life and circumstances, we tend to loose touch with that

What are you passionate about today?

  • I am as human as anyone else and also as much a divine spiritual being
  • I am now able to watch others make choices I would have previously judged them for and I am detached
  • That detachment has been very freeing for me
  • My human side likes to attach to labels and judgements but my divine side sees every human being as perfect in themselves
  • And I think the more we can all do that, the better the world will be
  • So my passion is being whole and to help others to realise their perfect wholeness as well
  • How do you do that?
  • Through my breakthrough shadow coaching and sending out love
  • I used to have judgement about spiritual people but now I get it, it really is just about love
  • Any fears that I have in that moment just dissipate and float away
  • To simply love someone and surrender to where we all are in our processes in life, that’s what’s been key for me

What is something in your future plan that scares you?

  • There are some days when waking up and getting out of bed scares me
  • Then there are days when I can see my future and my vision of being a speaker, author and an inspiration and that scares me and then my shadow speaks up
  • “Who are you to think you can do that?”
  • So yes, really just stepping into my power can be scary
  • But at the same time, I know that this world deserves as much light as I have
  • Because the world deserves all of our light, each and every one of us, shining brightly

What is breakthrough shadow coaching?

  • It’s a ten-week course one on one with me where you connect with the answers you already have within you
  • We just need to learn how to tap into those
  • By leading you through an internal process I help you to tap into yours
  • It’s about closing that gap between where you say you want to be and where you are
  • Through the sessions we bring that vision within reach for you

Five Fast Fun Fearless Facts about Michele Madrigal:

  1. Who inspires you? My kids, family, and friends – they help me realise how human we all are and how divine we all are.
  2. Favourite thing to do each day? Watching my kids and going on meditative walks or recently I’ve taken up jogging which was part of overcoming a shadow that I wasn’t a runner.
  3. What’s something that still scares you? Being a mum, being a single mum, scares me every day.
  4. Favourite technique or app or book? Book – Dark side of the light chasers by Debbie Ford and The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen – taught me it doesn’t have to be big or go home, it can be lots of little baby steps every day.
  5. If you could wave a magic wand and fix one thing in the world right now, what would it be and why? The openness that is needed for us all to learn how to get along and how to be more compassionate towards each other. To realise that there isn’t always one solution that is right or wrong – that could solve a lot of problems between people, between countries.

Final Question:

If you could turn back time what’s the one piece of advice you wish you could give your fourteen-year-old self?

  • Love every part of who you are!
  • Every part of who you are is needed for you to be a whole person

Where can people reach out to you?
